Wind power backup and storage batteries explode into flames and send a toxic cloud over the city of Brussels
A wind power storage battery has exploded into flames at a power station located near the city of Brussels. The fire resulted in a cloud of toxic fumes that flew over the city and force thousands of people to stay at home. Windmolens in Moelingen opnieuw geweigerd
Twee windmolens langs de E25 in Moelingen krijgen geen vergunning van het provinciebestuur. Eén turbine kan niet gebouwd worden omdat het op die plek niet mag volgens stedenbouw. De andere moet daardoor ook geschrapt, want windmolens moeten in clusters (meer dan één) liggen. Het is de tweede keer dat de deputatie een vergunning moet weigeren voor de molens. Gemeente Riemst adviseert negatief voor windturbines Millen
Nv Eneco Wind Belgium heeft een stedenbouwkundige aanvraag ingediend bij de gewestelijk stedenbouwkundige ambtenaar van Ruimte Vlaanderen, voor het bouwen van drie winturbines in Millen. Het gaat om drie windturbines met bijhorende infrastructuur, inclusief transformatoren, kabeltracé en middenspanningscabines. Natuur en Bos wil dat windmolen stilvalt als vleermuizen uitvliegen
HASSELT – Om vleermuizen te beschermen tegen windturbines, pleit het Agentschap Natuur en Bos in een richtlijn voor maatregelen. Zo zouden in risicogebieden de wieken van de windmolens automatisch moeten stilvallen op momenten dat vleermuizen, een bedreigde diersoort, kunnen uitvliegen: ‘s nachts als het minstens 10 graden is en er weinig tot geen regen is. Wind energy in Belgium’s Flanders region booms
