Geopferte Landschaften: Wie die Energiewende unsere Umwelt zerstört

Sacrificed landscapes: How the Energy Transition is destroying our environment Erschienen (published): 14.11.2016, Verlagsgruppe Random House Produzieren wir statt Ökoenergie die nachhaltigste Naturzerstörung? . .

Wind versus Water: the impact of ridgeline wind on water resources

Civil and environmental engineer Geoffry Goll of Princeton Hydro will discuss the Saxtons River watershed and the potential impact of industrial wind. The focus will be based on his direct relevant experience with other wind projects and the impacts of Vermont’s high-elevation headwater sources of water for people and the ecology. Friday, March 18, 6:30 pm Grafton (Vermont) Elementary School gymnasium Goll will highlight the extreme difficulty of controlling stormwater run-off from the high-impact, high-elevation construction sites. He will describe . . .

Oakfield ruined by First Wind (SunEdison, whatever!) turbines: latest photos

An erstwhile wind warrior grabbed his camera this week and sent in these sad photos of the Oakfield Wind project, still under construction, but with enough turbines up so the impact is clear. First Wind bamboozled the Town of Oakfield with a so-called collaboration with a poor town that was eager for tax revenues and landowners eager to get leasing income. Again, First Wind laughs all the way to the bank, having taken over the town at a cheap, rock-bottom . . .

Vermonters’ Plea: DO NOT REINSTATE the Wind Energy PTC

Dear Senators Leahy and Sanders and Congressman Welch: We, the undersigned, join many thousands of U.S. taxpayers and ratepayers nationwide in urging you and your colleagues to eliminate the 22-year old wind production tax credit (PTC). You should know by now that development of wind power in the United States does not reduce our need to maintain and build reliable generation, nor does it add materially to employment in our country. The small amount of energy it generates is intermittent, . . .
