    Wind Power Information Sources

Wind power is a technology issue, and, as such, is difficult for the media and normal citizens to accurately comprehend without spending the time to do a fairly substantial amount of research. The types of articles that appear on this topic fall into two general categories: those written by scientists and technical experts. These are often hard for most people to understand because they use many technical terms, and assume that the reader is fluent in the energy field. Additionally, . . .

Bat Mortality and Wind Power: a problem of migration?

In the push to develop new forms of sustainable energy, the wind power industry is at the forefront. Turbines that harness the power of wind already serve as effective power sources across the globe, and this proven effectiveness has led to vast increases in the number of turbines currently under construction. The general impact of wind turbines on the environment is likely far less than conventional power sources. However, recent evidence shows that certain species of bats are particularly susceptible . . .

    Buffalo, N.Y., stockpile discovered

The photos below were taken on one of our recent boating excursions in the Buffalo area. We came around a bend in an old canal in the downtown area and there they were. We couldn’t believe our eyes. Don’t know who’s stocking up or where they’re going. Only know that the Eagle project is the only game in town (or within a 100 mile radius) and their turbines are going directly on site. Also saw a tower section being delivered . . .
