Here is a time-lapse video showing the huge scale involved in the erection of a giant wind turbine.
Construction of Scout Moor Wind Farm
Paul Anderson of Ramsbottom documented the construction of the Scout Moor Wind Farm over the last 18 months, after Peel Holdings sent him on a health and safety induction and supplied him with all the safety gear and gave him unlimited site access to photograph the project. After supplying Peel with some 2,000 images, he used 14 of the 6,000 other images for a limited-edition calendar, and posted over 400 images on the Geograph web site: Click here.
Den Brook appeal granted for 24th and 25th July 2008
One of the key concerns of the residents who formed the Den Brook Judicial Review Group has been that noise issues relating to the proposed Den Brook Valley Wind Farm were not fairly addressed. Permission has been given to appeal the recent high court decision and we go to the Court of Appeal in only three weeks time, . . .

As you may know, there are plans to erect three huge wind turbines in the beautiful countryside of Benington. These three turbines, reaching 400 foot each, will destroy the beauty and peace of such a serene area, and will be seen for many miles around. I, myself, am not against wind . . .
You couldn't make it up!
I know that many of your friends follow our story with interest, so here’s the latest “episode”. The District Council undertook a period of monitoring at our home last October. They came to measure the noise for an hour a night on 26 nights. On the basis of this they decided that there was no statutory noise nuisance, and although there were three minor breaches of the planning permission they did not feel it appropriate to prosecute. This “result” then . . .
