Open letter to AMA
I am responding to the ill informed rubbish concerning health effects from wind turbines. Sarah Laurie is one of the few medically trained doctors worldwide who are prepared to abide by their Hippocratic Oath [to] “first do no harm”. I live at Cape Bridgewater, Victoria, where 80% of my neighbours have been forced or chosen to leave their homes. Sarah Laurie is unfairly blamed for scaremongering health problems. How is this possible when in 2008 we officially complained at a . . . Complete story »
Intentional bias behind AMA position statement?
Dear Dr. Hambleton, As a rural primary care physician (graduate of Harvard Medical School in 1971) in northern Vermont, USA, I have observed first hand the adverse health effects experienced by individuals living too close to the two large wind projects that have been brought online in the area over the past few years. Open letter to the AMA – Mar ’14
The Australian Medical Association current statement on wind farms and health neither recognises nor supports people suffering exposure to industrial wind turbines. The AMA’s 27,000 Doctor Membership and general public have been delivered a harmful lack of knowledge, dosed with biased misinformation about wind farms and health. Refusal to acknowledge health and noise problems experienced near wind farms and promoting this commercial industry, neglects not only ethical duty; but directly contributes to creating barriers preventing best medical care for those . . . Dear Dr. Steve Hambleton, Prof. Geoffrey Dobb and all members of the AMA
To release such an irresponsible statement such as the statement released by our own AMA recently, I feel shows incompetence, ignorance and lack of intellectual willingness to decipher fact from fiction. The AMA statement says there are no health effects from low frequency and infrasound from wind farms. How does the AMA know this? Where is the AMA’s research? Who carried out the AMA’s independent, full spectrum noise testing? Who took part in AMA’s multidisciplinary research? Who and how many . . . Complete story »
Letter to AMA (Australia)
I am a practicing physician, member of the Brown County Board of Health and Medical Adviser to the Brown County Health Department and am appalled by the misguided position of the AMA Australia on their position on the effects of ILFN on human health. Over the past four years the Board has studied the deleterious effects of IWT’s on human health. We have the Shirley Wind Farm in out county. It consists of eight 500′ 2.5 megawatt IWT’s. The effects . . . Complete story »
