Bulgarian environment ministry halts ‘deadly’ wind park
Bulgaria’s Ministry of Environment and Waters annulled a decision of its Regional Directorate in the Black Sea city of Burgas to allow the construction of a wind park. Bulgaria law aims to cool solar, wind energy surge
Bulgaria approved a new law on renewable energy on Thursday that aims to cool a surge in solar and wind power projects that threatens to overwhelm its ageing power grid and boost electricity prices. Poland’s PEP eyes 700MW in wind farms by 2012
Poland’s listed clean energy producer Polish Energy Partners (PEP) PEPP.WA plans to have 700 MW in wind farms by 2012, the firm’s chief executive told Reuters in an interview. Greek Alpha Grissin to build 400MW wind park in Bulgaria
Greek energy company Alpha Grissin Infotech has unveiled plans to build a 400MW wind park in Bulgaria in what would be a 400 million euro investment, Greek media quoted the company’s CEO Vassilis Grissin as saying. WPD to build third wind farm in Bulgaria
The Bulgarian arm of German wind power specialist WPD, Viaturen park Dobrudzha 2, announced plans to build a windmill off the village of Sokolovo, near Balchik on the northern coastline, in what would be its third operational wind farm in the country, Dnevnik daily reported. Environmentalists lodge new complaint in Brussels over Natura 2000
The Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BSPB) announced it has alerted the European Commission about infringement on the Europe-wide network of protected sites Natura 2000, the organisation said in a statement on February 25 2008.
