Wind park craze becomes very dangerous: ecologists

Bulgarian state has to establish national strategy about the planning and exploitation of wind energy, ecologists appealed.

Otherwise, according to the ecological specialists, the promiscuous installing of wind parks is dangerous and could stultify the clear energy production’s effect.

Reason of the ecologists’ demand is the bum in projecting new wind parks, planned already not only by the seaside and Sliven city, but also in the interior of the country, in regions with nesting protected rare birds.

On the territory of Bulgaria already has been installed round 100 wind generators, but the upcoming, awaiting projects are more than 500.

The problem with their construction is the fact the ecological estimates are done formally and superficially as the projects almost never get negative statements. Often the experts, preparing the eco-reports are not enough qualified and competent.

Many of the projects, approved by these experts, have been stopped as ecologically dangerous only thanks to signals of The Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BSPB) to higher institutions.

By the Society also insist that in the presence of so many wind park projects the ecological estimates should not be made by piece but to be paid attention to the cumulative effect of the amount of the vanes over the birds’ life and environment.
