Brooke-Alvinston Council has been briefed on a proposed new wind energy project in the northeast portion of the township.
Mayor Don McGugan says NextEra Energy has plans for up to 60 turbines that would spill over into Warwick Township and nearby Middlesex County.
Given the approvals process, the earliest the project could come on line would be late 2018.
Mayor McGugan said their meeting was the best attended in his 16 years with the majority strongly opposed to the project.
