Dear Electricity Bill Payer,
Are you interested in a reduced electricity bill?
The Local Electricity Discount Scheme (LEDS) is a groundbreaking new initiative from renewable energy company RES. The scheme is part of our community benefits programme and offers people living and working closest to our proposed wind farms an annual discount on their electricity bills, which is paid for the life-time of the wind farm.
The proximity of your property to our proposed Barr Cregg Wind Farm, which is situated in the townlands of Barr Cregg, Ballymaclanigan and Slaghtmanus approximately 2.5 miles from Claudy means you would be eligible for an annual discount of £200 should the wind farm become operational.
The dicount we are offerring through LEDS is in addition to our proposed Community Benefit Fund [reportedly £25,000 per year], and brings the total investment in the community near Barr Cregg to £63,000 per year.
The enclosed leaflet contains more details about LEDS. If you would like to register your interest you can do so using the following methods and quoting your Unique Reference Code (shown at the top of this letter):
- Completing and returning the FREEPOST form attached to the enclosed leaflet;
- Registering online at www.res-leds.com;
- Calling us free from a landline on 0800 011 3341;
- E-mailing us at leds@res-ltd.com.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Donna Hamilton

[It is reported that distribution of this fund will be handled by the group of farmers involved in the project. (So you’d better not be known as someone who got in their way!) This fund was begun precisely to combat the so far effective opposition to the Barr Cregg proposal.]
