Dong, Iberdrola prepare to exit Poland windfarm investments -FT
Denmark’s Dong Energy A/S and Spanish utility Iberdrola SA (IBE.MC), two of Poland’s largest investors in windfarms, are preparing to exit the country, The Financial Times reports Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter. Poland proposes less help for biomass, onshore wind
Poland’s economy ministry on Friday proposed scaling back support for generating renewable energy using biomass and onshore wind in favour of solar power and offshore wind as ways of reducing the country’s heavy dependence on coal. A draft bill released by the ministry also reduced overall state support for renewable energy sources between 2013 and 2020 by around 9.7 billion zlotys ($2.9 billion)to 54.5 billion zlotys. Poland to amend renewables bill amid wind-farm investor concern
Poland, which boosted wind-power capacity 37 percent last year, will amend a proposed renewable- energy law after investors said a December draft would hamper development of new ventures and erode wind-project finances. Major stake in Poland’s wind farm sector up for grabs
A fifty percent stake in Poland’s largest company specialising in the construction of wind farms is up for the taking after the firm run up huge debts. Two firms with stakes in Warsaw-based ECO-WIND Construction are attempting to sell off their shares in the company. The major stake, some 41 percent, is being sold off by Trakcja-Tiltra, which is currently struggling with debts. Largest windmill in Europe near Darlowo
The largest complex of wind farms in Europe will be built near Koszalin – says the daily newspaper “Rzeczpospolita” (The Republic). 250 MW wind power plant will have a capacity to produce a quarter of all wind energy generated in Poland. The first current will flow from the new wind farm this year. In order to finance the first stage, the loan has been signed for PLN 240 million. Wind farms evoke mixed response
The news that approximately 800 wind turbines are to be built for use in the Mazurian Lake District has been met with mixed reactions.
