NEEDLES – If the second two meetings went like the first two, support for the Crescent Peak Wind project is scarce. Opposition to wind farm project expressed
As part of its review process to determine whether to approve an application to allow construction of wind turbines on 32,000 acres of public land in Nevada adjacent to the California border just west of Searchlight, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) conducted a series of scoping meetings to allow public input. Searchlight wind project would be a travesty for the area
I read where they want to build the Crescent Peak Wind Project near Paiute Valley west of Searchlight. This would be a travesty. The location, as described by the Review-Journal’s Henry Brean on March 25, could not be worse when you consider the natural beauty and expanse of one of the largest Joshua tree forests in the United States. SEARCHLIGHT – A proposed wind project was hit with a gale of opposition Monday, as the Bureau of Land Management hosted the first of four meetings on the massive renewable energy project. Opposition to a new “clean” energy project near Searchlight is coming from an unlikely source – environmentalists.
