Windrad bei Greifswald brennt — Wind turbine near Greifswald on fire

Die Fotos waren spektakulär: Riesige Flammen schlugen aus einem Windrad, Böen fachten das Feuer immer weiter an: Bei Hinrichshagen in der Nähe von Greifswald (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) brannte am Dienstag ein Windrad!
Feuerwehr und Polizei wurden gegen Mittag zu dem Park mit neun Anlagen alarmiert, doch die Retter konnten nicht viel tun: Die Gondel der Anlage brannte bis zum Nachmittag kontrolliert ab, weil eine Löschung in über 100 Metern Höhe zu kompliziert gewesen wäre. Die anderen Windräder im Umkreis wurden vorsorglich ausgeschaltet.
Die umliegenden Bewohner wurden aufgefordert, Türen und Fenster geschlossen zu halten. Die Feuerwehr war mit über 30 Kräften vor Ort.
Am Nachmittag geriet ein zweites Windrad in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Brand. Die Feuerwehr sei am Brandort in Sarow bei Demmin, sagte ein Polizeisprecher am frühen Dienstagabend. Der Brand sei gegen halb fünf bekannt geworden.
Verletzt wurde den Angaben zufolge niemand. Es sei jedoch ein hoher Sachschaden in Höhe von rund 1,5 Millionen Euro entstanden.
