The MPP for Prince Edward Hastings has jumped into the controversy over a decision by WPD White Pines to clear some land for wind farm in Prince Edward County that hasn’t yet been approved.
MPP Todd Smith called on the provincial government to stop any construction on the project until the Environmental Review Tribunal finishes it’s hearings.
Smith says the government won’t even back it’s own environmental experts and process.
The Tribunal has ruled that the 27 turbine project could cause serious harm to Blanding’s Turtles and Little Brown Bats.
WPD White Pines officials say the concerns of the Tribunal only involved the operation of the wind farm, not it’s construction.
