A wind turbine has collapsed in Co Tyrone after locals reported hearing unusual noises coming from the structure.
The incident happened to a structure between Fintona and Fivemiletown on Friday night, as reported in the Ulster Herald.
It is thought the turbine was 80 metres in height. Its collapse was brought to the attention of the authorities by locals in the area.
No one was injured in the collapse of the structure.
The collapsed turbine is part of Lendrum’s Bridge wind farm, which is one of 20 in the Fivemiletown mountain range near Co Tyrone.
The turbine is thought to be operated by the UK based Renewable Energy Systems Group.
It was confirmed this morning that the incident is not being treated as a police matter.
