A wind turbine worker was airlifted to Mayo Clinic in Rochester after the crane he operated fell over early Friday.
Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi said the accident took place about 7:15 a.m. near County Road 8 and 180th Street, about six miles south of Grand Meadow.
There were few details available about the accident as of 9 a.m. Friday, but Amazi said the worker was driving the crane to repair a wind turbine when the crane fell over. The crain’s cab was crushed during the accident, but the worker was not trapped.
It was unclear what injuries the worker sustained or what prompted the accident, according to Amazi.
