Brand windmolen: ‘Verlies collega’s hartverscheurend’

Bij het drama met de windmolenbrand in Ooltgensplaat kwamen dinsdag twee jongemannen om het leven van 19 en 21 jaar oud. “Het verlies van de twee collega’s is onbeschrijflijk en hartverscheurend.”
De monteurs hingen op 67 meter hoogte in een gondel naast de windturbine toen de vlammen hen overmanden. Ze konden niet op tijd wegkomen. Twee andere monteurs konden nog wel veilig op de grond komen.
De groep pleegde onderhoud aan 12 molens op de Mariadijk in Ooltgensplaat in Zuid-Holland.
Dat zegt een woordvoerder van Bettink Service Team uit Barneveld tegen het Brabants Dagblad. De oorzaak van de grote brand is nog onbekend, maar kan door kortsluiting veroorzaakt zijn.
