A local citizens group is staging both a protest and information night next Monday.
The West Lincoln and Glanbrook Wind Action Group will stage a “not a willing host” rally on Monday, May 13 at 6 p.m. outside West Lincoln township hall. The protest takes place just before the council meets for a planning meeting.
Following that, the group will move up the street to Smithville District Christian High School for a presentation by retired banker and Financial Post commentator Parker Gallant on “Watt’s hidden in your electrical bill?”
The meeting, says the group, is especially for urban neighbours and civic minded residents who want to learn more about the cost of green energy in Ontario. Admission is free.
Following the presentation, residents are invited to stick around for a screening of the CBC documentary Wind Rush.
The rally takes place at 6 p.m. outside township hall and the presentations begin at 7:30 at SDCH.
