COLEBROOK – The group appealing the Connecticut Siting Council’s decision to allow the construction of six wind turbines in the southwest corner of town off Route 44 is holding a silent auction Sunday to raise money for its legal costs.
FairwindCT President Joyce Hemingson said the grassroots organization needs to raise roughly $200,000. Its appeal is pending in New Britain Superior Court; it seeks to overturn the project proposed by BNE Energy of West Hartford.
Hemingson said the first meeting with a judge is set for Oct. 26. It will be an attempt at mediation and an out-of-court settlement.
