PROSPECT – A local group that fought against a proposed wind farm here is no longer asking the town to pay a portion of its expenses.
Timothy C. Reilly, president of Save Prospect Corp., submitted a letter Monday to the Town Council, retracting a request from last month for the town to fund a “fair portion” of the cost of residents’ defense.
Reilly has said that the group feels the town should chip in with expenses, but said on Tuesday Save Prospect has decided to take back its request.
“While our group still strongly believes that this fight should have been fought by the town on the residents’ behalf and funded as such, we do not wish to create any further division within town by our request,” Reilly said in the letter dated June 20. “We respect the opinions of taxpayers and fully recognize firsthand that the petition process itself created enough stress for our neighbors.”
