COLEBROOK – Another group has come out in opposition to the wind turbine proposal in Colebrook.
The board for the Coalition for Sound Growth voted unanimously April 3 to oppose the petition of BNE Energy Inc. of West Hartford to construct six wind turbines on two different sites near Route 44 in Colebrook. The petition is before the Connecticut Siting Council, which has sole jurisdiction over the proposal.
The nonprofit concluded that BNE’s partners, Paul E. Corey and Gregory J. Zupkus, have never built a wind turbine before and that the project would reduce property values and cause unexpected costs and unforeseen liabilities. The group encourages the public to write letters to the Siting Council by the April 22 deadline.
The Siting Council address is 10 Franklin Square, New Britain, 06051.
