PROSPECT – For more than 22 months, a West Hartford-based company has tested the wind at a site off New Haven Road.
And BNE Energy Inc. has found it’s ripe for turning wind into power.
The company intends later this month to file a proposal with the Connecticut Siting Council to construct two wind turbines at 178 New Haven Road, according to an informational filing by the company. It’s not required to file with the town, but wants to share the plan for “Wind Prospect” with residents.
An informational meeting has been set for 7 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Prospect firehouse, Mayor Robert J. Chatfield said. If this project moves forward, it would be one of the bigger taxpayers in town, he said.
