Re: Setback proposal short-sighted, by Steven Bezaire, Sept. 14.
A letter from Steven Bezaire appeared in The Windsor Star and mistakenly referred to what he called “ERCA’s eight kilometre setback for proposed offshore wind turbines.”
ERCA has not endorsed a setback for offshore wind turbines, nor has ERCA endorsed the idea of offshore wind turbines at all.
In fact, at the ERCA meeting of Sept. 9, the board of directors made it very clear that ERCA will oppose offshore wind turbines unless and until there is scientific evidence confirming what impact they will have on our freshwater lakes.
CBC Radio gave extensive coverage to ERCA’s position in both English and French.
Any person wishing to get accurate information about ERCA’s policies can contact their municipal representatives or visit the ERCA website at erca.org.
