Wind farm developers have failed in their efforts to win the support of a North-east MSP.
West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine Lib Dem MSP Mike Rumbles said he remained “resolutely opposed” to proposals to develop on the ridge of Pressendye, overlooking Tarland.
The view there was a favourite of Queen Victoria’s and plans to put a wind farm on it have provoked outrage.
Mr Rumbles said: “I was pleased to take up this invitation to meet with the developers, but having heard what they say I remain resolutely opposed to this proposed wind farm.
“This is an area of outstanding natural beauty. We need wind energy but we cannot just give developers carte blanche.”
