Plans for Swarclett wind turbines prompt ‘misery and strife’ warning
Plans for a new Caithness wind farm have prompted a national campaigner to warn of the “misery and strife” that can arise when communities become divided over renewable energy developments. Aileen Jackson, of Scotland Against Spin, highlighted the “striking” similarities between the proposed Swarclett Wind Farm at Bowertower and Neilston Wind Farm in East Renfrewshire. Pressure mounts against French wind farm project near Belgian coast
De Panne, Koksijde and Nieuwpoort are the latest communes on the Belgian coast to oppose a French government project to build an offshore wind farm near Dunkirk. The proposal includes turbines almost as high as the Eiffel Tower: 300 metres above sea level (the Paris icon is 330m). Energy giant pays off fisherman blocking Wicklow wind farm
A fisherman from Co Wicklow has settled with an offshore wind developer in a landmark case expected to send waves through a renewable energy industry grappling with mounting legal challenges. Wind turbine crashes down in Schuyler County
A wind turbine came crashing down in Schuyler County late last week. It happened Friday night on Fairview Drive off County Route J in Queen City. It was part of Ameren’s wind farm along Highway 63 that was installed in 2021. Three groups are suing N.J. to block an offshore wind farm
Three anti–wind power groups are suing New Jersey to overturn a key environmental approval for a wind energy farm planned off the coast of Long Beach Island. TransAlta scraps wind farm project as energy market changes loom for Alberta
TransAlta, one of Alberta’s largest power generators, has cancelled a proposed wind farm development and is putting a hold on three other power projects, citing provincial rule changes and a lack of certainty in the market. In February, Alberta’s government announced new rules on the development of renewable power in the province.
