Representatives from Cordelio Power and Tenaska met with Audrain County commissioners on Thursday to discuss the next phase of the 400 megawatt Firebrick wind project. Cordelio acquired the wind farm project from Omaha-based Tenaska in late February for an undisclosed amount. Tenaska continues to play a role under a development services agreement between the two energy firms. “It’s typical for developers to bring in partners,” said Bob Ramaekers, vice president of development for Tenaska, which completed the land acquisition process . . . JEFFERSON CITY – The use of eminent domain for a large wind-energy power line cutting through Missouri would be banned under a bill passed by the state House on Thursday. The GOP-led House voted 123-33 Tuesday in favor of the bill, which would prevent the use of property owners’ land for the Grain Belt Express power line without their permission. Missouri lawmakers again trying to pull plug on wind energy line

JEFFERSON CITY – Just days after a major winter storm wreaked havoc on a Texas-size chunk of the nation’s electrical grid, Missouri lawmakers approved a plan designed to block a company from building a high-voltage electric transmission line across the northern part of the state. On a preliminary vote Tuesday, the GOP-controlled House endorsed legislation requiring Chicago-based Invenergy to get approval from each of the eight county commissions where its lines will be located in order to start the so-called Grain . . . Wind a major source of energy for regional power grid

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Reliance on wind power is under the microscope this week, as rolling power outages have impacted the metro. Sub-zero temperatures knocked some wind turbines offline, according to Evergy. Icy blades and frozen hydraulic fluid are two of the factors impacting the machinery itself. Plus, the wind just hasn’t been blowing very hard. It matters because wind is one of the major energy sources for the regional power grid run by Southwest Power Pool (SPP). “They have one . . .
