Save Our Desert, a grass-roots organization trying to keep wind farms off the ridges above Pioneertown, will hold a fund-raiser Sunday. Reporter Lenore Roberts invites you to Pappy and Harriet’s…
Do you want to see Black Lava Butte and Flat Top Mesa, some of the desert’s most iconic landmarks, being developed into an industrial wind energy project? Of course not. This is why the community is being asked to help in the efforts to save these two buttes. Save Our Desert invites you to their second major fundraiser at Pappy & Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace in historic Pioneertown. This event will take place on May 20 from noon to 3 p.m. There will be multiple ways to participate in the fundraiser including listening to the latest news on the fight against the wind project, signing the petition against the project, and participating in the silent auction. Entry is free and everyone is welcome to attend to help preserve our desert.
