[Gaeltacht community is celebrating since An Bord Pleanála announced they are withdrawing from a case concerning wind turbines sited in Gúgán Barra in County Cork.]
Tá pobal Gaeltachta ag ceiliúradh ó d’fhogair an Bord Pleanála go bhfuil siad ag tarraingt siar ó chás a bhain le feirm tuirbíní gaoithe a lonnú i nGúgán Barra i gContae Chorcaí.
Bhí cead tugtha ag an mBord tuirbiní móra a lonnú sna sléibhte ansiúd ach bheartaigh Coiste Forbartha Bhéal Átha an Ghaorthaidh an cás a thabhairt chun na hArd-Chúirte.
Bhí díomá agus frustrachas ar mhuintir na háite faoin bhfeirm gaoithe a bhí beartaithe i gceantar sár-áilleachta dúlra agus ina bhfuil Aireagal Naomh Fionnbarra suite ar imeall na locha le míle go leith bliain.
Thug An Bord Pleanala cead don chuideachta Wing Leaf Ltd tuirbiní 178.5m ar airde a lonnú ar na sléibhte – togra a raibh costas €30 miliún luaite leis.
Bheartaigh an pobal an cás a thabhairt os comhair na hArd-Chúirte.
Ach tá sé fogartha anois ag foireann dlí an Bhoird Phleanála go bhfuil siad ag tarraingt siar.
Ta muintir na háite ar bís faoin scéala agus iad le cóisir a eagrú in Óstán Ghúgán Barra lena mbua a cheiliúradh.
Beidh tuilleadh faoin scéal sin ag Marian O’Flaherty ar Nuacht TG4 @1900.
