County board to host public hearing on Bluestem Energy’s wind project proposal

Three years after hitting a pause button on the local wind energy debate to allow time for updating the county’s comprehensive plan and zoning regulations the issue is now back on the agenda for Hamilton County commissioners.
Jeremy Brandt, the county’s planning and zoning administrator, reported that Bluestem Energy Solutions’ request will be on the county board agenda Monday, though the meeting has been moved from the traditional morning start time at the courthouse to 7 p.m. at the 4-H Building on the fairgrounds. At that time, commissioners will host a public hearing on the issue, and then have the option of approving, denying or tabling the request for further review.
