A state board has rescheduled the adjudicatory hearing for Apex Clean Energy’s proposed 47-turbine Republic Wind project in Seneca and Sandusky counties.

The new date for the Republic Wind project was announced Thursday by the Ohio Power Siting Board. The hearing – one in which formal testimony and evidence is presented – will now be at 10 a.m. on June 3 at the siting board’s hearing room at 180 E. Broad St., Columbus.

It is separate from and does not affect the timing of the local public hearing scheduled from 5 to 9:30 p.m. May 15 at Bellevue High School, 200 Oakland Aven., Bellevue, Ohio, the board said.

Republic Wind is authorized for up to 50 turbines, although the developer has said it only plans to erect 47. They are to be installed in Seneca County’s Adams, Reed, Scipio, and Thompson townships and Sandusky County’s York Township.

It will have a generating capacity of about 200 megawatts.
