Investigation will begin by company officials after a wind turbine blade failure early this (Wed) morning in Bloomfield Township, west of Port Hope. Huron County Building and Zoning Director Jeff Smith said that the blade failed early this morning in the Big Turtle Wind Farm. Turbine 14 is located off of Minden Road, north of Dobson Road. Operations Manager of Heritage Sustainable Energy and the turbine manufacturer secured the area, and the investigation into the cause of the failure will begin. Images from the scene, appear to show the blade had delaminated, however there will be no official determination until the investigation is completed.
