A plan to erect wind turbines in Co. Waterford has been withdrawn by BSB Community Energy Ltd.
They were proposing to put them up in the Bonmahon, Stradbally and Ballylaneen areas.
BSB released a statement yesterday afternoon they said:
Statement from BSB 21-08-2017
In view of the feedback from the consultation process, the local campaign of opposition, the lack of local support, the committee is advising that the current windfarm proposal will not be proceeding any further. The committee has listened to the local feelings on the project. The current project is also not compliant given the proposed changes in the planning guidelines. The committee has also sought and received the professional advice of project partners. We will be communicating further with the project stakeholders and the wider community over the next few weeks.
