Wind projects moratorium formally approved

CORUNNA – On Friday, the Shiawassee Board of Commissioners approved a one-year moratorium on wind turbine projects, bringing a temporary halt to the controversial Maple Rapids Wind project announced in September.

The moratorium was adopted as part of a consent agenda by a 6-0 vote with no discussion at Friday’s meeting. Commissioner Daniel McMaster was absent.
