The state panel that will decide the fate of a 126-megawatt wind farm proposed for Chautauqua County will hold a hearing on the project in Sinclairville beginning at 6 p.m. on Monday.
The state Board on Electric Generation Siting and the Environment will hold the hearing at the Sinclairville Fire Department, 30 Main St., with an information session beginning at 6 p.m., followed by the opportunity for the public to comment at 7 p.m.
The project would build up to 58 wind turbines and associated power lines and infrastructure in the towns of Charlotte, Cherry Creek, Arkwright and Stockton in Chautauqua County.
The seven-member siting panel, charged with evaluating the merits of new power generation projects, is reviewing the project as part of what is expected to be a process that continues into late this year. The process also will include an environmental review.
