OWOSSO – As community discussion intensifies on Apex Clean Energy’s proposed wind farm in Northwest Shiawassee County, the Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership (SEDP) has chosen to adopt a neutral position on the project, officials said in a press release this week.
“The SEDP’s mission is to improve Shiawassee County’s economy through business attraction, retention and expansion, and our initial evaluation of this development indicated the potential for positive economic benefits to the community,” the release states. “However, we now recognize there are many significant stakeholder questions and concerns (both economic and non-economic) that have not yet been effectively addressed and deserve answers. As such, we are choosing to take a step back and be neutral.”
