Wind turbine burns in Luzerne County

The wind turbine in Bear Creek Township caught fire Thursday afternoon.

The wind turbine in Bear Creek Township caught fire Thursday afternoon.

BEAR CREEK TOWNSHIP – Crews were called out Thursday afternoon after a wind turbine along a ridgetop in Luzerne County apparently caught fire.

It happened around 2 p.m. in the Bear Creek Township area.

Smoke from the fire could be seen for miles.

There is no word on the what caused the wind turbine to catch fire.
