Members of Wigtown Community Council heard at their monthly meeting that Community Windpower have withdrawn an application to erected seven turbines at Auchleand Farm. The renewable energy company lodged the application with the council in 2013 for seven 130 metre turbines, a 80 metre metrological mast and a substation. Community Windpower had not replied to our request for a reason at the time of going to press. This withdrawal follow the Scottish Government’s decision to deny an appeal by Ecotricity over a seven turbine windfarm near Carsluith, directly across the bay from the County town.
