I’ve had a number of people in the community ask if the case regarding wind turbines is over. As chairperson of Greenwich Neighbors United, I want to assure you it is not!
Just this past Monday, we filed an application for rehearing and memorandum in support on Case No. 15-1921-EL-BGA to contest an Ohio Power Citing Board (OPSB) order. We filed this application for rehearing because the OPSB had approved the wind farm developer to modify its Huron County plan to add bigger and more noisy wind turbines to the plan that was previously approved. The OPSB did this without holding a public hearing, and did not require the new setback requirements that are in Ohio law.
The OPSB has 30 days to rule on the rehearing request. If GNU is not satisfied with the OPSB ruling, our next step may be an appeal to the Ohio Supreme Court. We will keep you updated on the status of the case.
We very much appreciate all the support we have received from our neighbors in Greenwich and will continue to do everything we can to keep this foreign wind developer from destroying our beautiful and tranquil farming community.
