Lehighton Water Authority voted tonight to reject an offer from Iberdrola Renewables to lease land in Penn Forest Township.
Iberdrola planned to put three wind turbines on the land as part of a 40-turbine project.
The other turbines are proposed for Bethlehem Watershed property in Penn Forest Township.
Residents have banded together to fight the turbines. They are raising money for legal bills and have started a Facebook page, “Say NO to the Bethlehem Watershed Wind Farm Project!”
