Some people in a Carbon County community are outraged over a proposed wind turbine project.
Eyewitness News first told you about this renewable energy plan earlier this month.
A local state representative hosted a town hall meeting Thursday night after he received dozens of requests from concerned residents.
Iberdrola Renewables is proposing the plan that would affect people in Penn Forest Township and surrounding areas.
Some residents are worried about the environment, noise, property values, and what would happen to their thriving tourism industry.
The renewable energy company had told us the ability to generate energy locally with little impact on the environment is the ultimate benefit to the local community.
This wind turbine project is still in the planning phase, and the next Penn Forest Township Zoning Board hearing is scheduled on June 23rd.
