Not surprisingly, the firm looking to construct a wind farm atop Dans Mountain has filed a Circuit Court Appeal of a ruling issued on Monday. On Monday, the Allegany County Board of Zoning Appeals adopted adopted a formal opinion on the denial of an application for variances and a special exception for the $110 million project. The board voted to adopt the opinions and findings of fact for both Dans Mountain Windforce LLC’s application for a special exception to construct the wind farm and its application for a variance to setback and separation distance requirements. Dans Mountain Wind Force filed the appeal immediately after Monday’s ruling.
