Anti wind farm and pylon groups are planning to protest at the opening of Bord na Móna’s €115 million Mount Lucas wind farm this afternoon.
The official opening will be carried out by Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources Alex White. It will be one of the first major events for Bord na Móna’s new Managing Director Mike Quinn, who took up his role in January.
Bord na Móna say the wind farm at Mount Lucas, which was commissioned last year, will provide energy for over 45,000 homes in Ireland.
