A number of people have turned out in Lochmaben to protest against the erection of seven wind turbines between Torthorwald and Hightae.
The 126 metre high turbines could generate enough clean energy to power over 13,100 homes every year.
Local MP David Mundell was at the protest, in support of the opponents to the wind farm.
“We acknowledge people’s right to protest and are aware of the intensity of the feelings of those who object to our proposal.
” Our planning application will be determined by the local authority on the basis of its independent impacts and benefits and we are confident that this is an appropriately sited wind energy project with valuable local benefits.”
