APPLE VALLEY • The application for a 42-mast wind farm proposed for the highlands east of Milpas Road is on hold.
The project’s applicant, E•ON Climate & Renewables North America – with its wind headquarters in Austin, Texas – asked for a six-month delay to review aspects of the project, said Joan Patrovsky, realty specialist/project manager for the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management’s Barstow office.
“If they do work things out and move ahead, it will be about October” before a request for a draft environmental impact statement is made, Patrovsky said Monday. The draft EIS could be prepared and presented by a third party in November or December with dates for public hearings set after that.
