Councillors have backed an earlier decision made by officials to reject plans for a wind turbine east of Haddington.
In May, local authority officers turned down JK Playfair and Sons’s bid for a 34.2-metre-tall turbine at Abbey Mains but the matter then came before the council’s Local Review Body last Thursday.
There, it met the same fate, with councillors unanimously agreeing to reject the scheme.
Councillor Peter MacKenzie agreed that the turbine would be intrusive and that it should be turned down.
People, said councillor Jim Gillies, had differing views on the subject of wind turbines.
That was why they looked to the planning department for guidance and on this occasion the department moved to refuse the plans, something Mr Gillies supported.
