It looks like there may be some wind turbines heading to Bee County. Bee County Judge David Silva said the proposed wind turbines would be built off I-37 and FM 796.
A company called Lincoln Renewable Energy is looking to build about four turbines initially, and maybe more in the coming years.
“If they’re able to plug in. Right now they’re plugging into a substation that is right off of I-37,” Silva said. “If they can plug into an AEP substation somewhere, then they will be building more in Bee County, so that opens the door for a possibility.”
In coming months, Silva said the company plans to go before Bee County commissioners to ask for the creation of a reinvestment zone, and a package of tax abatements.
