Town officials have terminated a contract with Lumus Construction, a Boston-based firm that built a wind turbine in Hanover but failed to meet a deadline to get it operating. At a recent selectmen’s meeting, Town Manager Troy Clarkson said the town is withholding $100,000 owed to the company. Officials are also demanding that Lumus Construction honor its contractual obligation and pay Hanover $1,000 daily for the time amassed since it missed a deadline nearly two years ago, which amounts to an estimated $700,000.
