Plans for a 101m wind turbine near Aylesbury have been thrown out by district councillors.
Jeremy Elgin wanted to build the structure, which would have been bigger than Big Ben, at his farm in Ford.
But this afternoon members of Aylesbury Vale District Council’s development control committee refused planning permission for the turbine.
Mr Elgin has vowed to appeal against the decision.
Before the meeting, opponents of the scheme had protested outside the council’s offices.
They will now have to await the outcome of any appeal.
