Around 12 protestors have gathered outside county buildings to voice their concern over windfarm developments in the Connemara region.
Residents from areas such as Lettermuckoo and Moycullen have gathered with placards to coincide with today’s meeting of Galway County Council.
The group says that to date over 100 wind turbines have been granted permission in an 8 kilometre radius of Moycullen, some of which are as high as the spire in Dublin.
The issue of windfarms is not on today’s agenda of the county council but it may be raised under ‘other business’.
