Moray Council is objecting to a proposed wind farm on Brown Muir.
They took the decision against the 19 turbine development by Vento Ludens Ltd at a meeting of the planning and regulatory services committee today.
Their reasons for objecting include the detrimental visual impact it would cause and that the wind farm mostly falls outwith the preferred search area for developments of this kind.
The council received more then 2,000 objections to the proposal.
Ten were received in support of the development.
The decision will be passed to Scottish ministers – responsable for the final outcome of the development.
Ministers will also decide if a public inquiry will be held.
