Long-mooted plans for a new wind farm in northern Victoria appear to be moving forward.
The wind energy company Acciona Australia won planning approval in 2007 for a 16-turbine farm at Berrimal, between Wedderburn and St Arnaud.
However, development has been on hold ever since.
The Loddon Shire has revealed Acciona is expected to make a fresh application soon to build up to 23 turbines at the same site.
In a statement, Acciona says the $150 million project would generate enough renewable energy to power about 36,000 homes.
A community meeting will be held at Wedderburn next week and Acciona says it is keen to engage with local residents.
